Iām a Minimal Packer, Except . . .
Four shoes for just an overnight outing? Allow me to justify, wink-wink.
We are taking our Life Group to the historic Hiram Inn, nestled on the campus of Hiram College, just an hourās drive away. It is a charming inn beautifully managed by our niece and her husband. (I took my Bible study gals in the spring. 5-star rating!)
So why pack all the footwear?
1 – We plan to have lunch and walk around downtown. Hiking shoes are not needed for casual strolling, but itās a bit too much for sandal walking. My white tennies are the perfect in-between.
2 – Back to Hiram Inn to recharge before hiking around the beautiful campus. Don my Hoka sneakers.

3 – Relax inside for the remainder of our day and enjoy conversation, games, and snacks. Slide into sandals.
4 – After a great day together, ending in a sweet prayer time, guess #4. My Cloudies – the most comfortable “slippers” I’ve ever owned. And my least expensive in this photo at $29.99. Highly recommend! (After I broke several bones in my left foot from a fall five years ago, shoes out of necessity have become pricey. Thankful to find shoes that help.)

Whew! We are at the end of a great day . . . though we haven’t left yet!
Did you know the Bible has something to say about feet?
“How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!ā Romans 10:15
Hope-deliverers, sharing Jesus’ love. Whatever footwear of the day, your shoes are carrying a message.
Look down, then around, and finally, look up. The Lord has promised to teach us how to be good carriers of His message. Just this morning, I asked.
If you aren’t sure what that Good News message is all about and would like to know, well, you know how to find me.
I’ll be in my new white Allbirds.

PS: I forgot the Hot Tub surprise. Next post.
