Football, a New Hobby and an Old Story

My Japanese Snowball bush is letting me know the season. Its leaves are curling up and dropping off, resting up for the winter months ahead. See you, Snowball, in a few months. You deserve a rest.

Football season is here. If you have followed me for any time, you know I’m a basketball fan. Although I slightly enjoy football, I can’t just sit and watch. Louisa May Alcott said, ā€œKeep cheerful as well as busy, for you are the sunshine maker of the family.ā€

In my quest to create sunshine, I found a new hobby: diamond art or gem painting. It is a mindless activity, mildly addictive, and relaxing. I’ll be painting my way through touchdowns with a lightbox on my lap and hundreds of tiny vibrant colored drills. The photos do not do them justice.

It helps that I know a guy who can make frames.

Over the weekend, hubs and I worked our church booth for the Apple Festival. We visited with moms and dads as their little ones enjoyed splashing at our water table.

I listened to stories with a lot of heartache. It was a privilege to share that in the middle of their hard places, there is hope in the name and love of Jesus. I gave them an invite to learn more at our church and a way to find me if they came. There are five names I am praying for.

Sharing the Old Story on the hot pavement across from Philly Cheesesteaks and Fries.

Sunshine-making at its best!

Margi

I don’t know your five names but I prayed they would show up and learn more about Jesus and God’s great love.
