LESSONS & LEARNING
I worked hard on my landscape this year. The peony bush, which we inherited with our move four years ago, was on its last stems, with nary a bloom in sight. I determined I would pull it out this year if it didn’t flower. I gave fair warning.
Much to my happy surprise, not only did one bloom show up, but many. I smile. Lesson? Never give up.

A book update. It was just a year ago that my book came out in print. To save on words, here are some fun facts from my little store.

* We have sold 409 books.
* We have given away 168, often to complete strangers we meet at parks, restaurants, vacationing, hospitals. . . We keep a bundle in our vehicle. Our delight!
* My book is in 17 states and four countries (that I’m aware of).
* Our local grocery store is selling them. Thank you, Alberts!
* Most asked question. Will you write another? Not leaning that direction, but then again, I never leaned into writing the first book.
Lesson? Following God’s path, not my own, brings joy. And somehow, I’m still learning that surrender every day. Translation: I’ve a willful, stubborn heart. Thankful God never gives up on me. My book is proof positive.
These days, I’m adding more green to my kitchen, and it’s not a decoration. I’m trying to like a kale salad (thank you, Ann, for your encouragement).

Lesson? Don’t give up. Hope carries.
The color green – I catch the faintest strain of a fight song. You hear it too?
