Prepping for Thanksgiving

It’s the food, the traditions, the gathering, the memories. And it’s un-commercialized. It’s no secret we love Thanksgiving.

We’ve been hosting this holiday since our children were small. And with each passing year, setting the tables becomes more treasured.

My to-do lists have grown longer, the place settings have increased, and the noise level is greater. And joy is ours.

I love prepping our home to reflect warmth and welcome in every season. I took a break between my list-checking and watched a few leaves falling. Sitting still for a few minutes, my mind wandered back through so many years. It is good to pause and let the memories roll in.

I found some “fall balls” to hang in my window. And then added them to my coffee table. It’s the little things!

This coffee mug was gifted to me this fall by my college roommate, Margie Rivera. It sums up my heart. God’s goodness. His rich mercy. My cup runneth over. Psalm 23:5

As we gather with our family and the Mayos, we recognize those who are missing from our table. Dad and Mom passed down a legacy of count your blessings. The more we look back, the more we see God’s faithfulness woven through our story.

It’s a special day here at the Inn and pairs well with my favorite pies.

ā€œCut my pie into four pieces – I don’t think I can eat eight.ā€ Yogi Berra

May your heart be full and your table be blessed.

With love and thanksgiving, Margi
